New York's Growing Season

The Growing Season refers to the number of days between the date of the last frost in the spring and the first frost in the fall. This is the part of the year when the weather conditions in a particular region, such as temperatures and rainfall, permit plant growth.

In New York, the length of the growing season varies depending on location. The typical start date, or date of the last frost, ranges from April 15th - May 15th. The growing season ends on the date of the first frost of fall, which can occur between September 1st - October 15th.
