When Do Tornadoes Occur?

Tornadoes can occur in any season as long as atmospheric conditions are right for their development.
However, tornadoes are most common in the spring, and less common in the winter.
Tornado occurrence is also dependent on time of day with most occurring during the late afternoon because of the solar heating throughout the day.
