What about bubbles?

Question:

Is air all around us?

We saw that air filled up the balloon and that air was coming out of the balloon when it began to deflate. Let’s try one more experiment that shows air is all around us.

Materials:

You will need a couple things:

a straw
a glass with water

Procedure:

Now put the straw into the glass of water and blow.

Observations:

What did you observe about the water when you blew through the straw?
What was being blown through the straw?
What was happening to the water when you were blowing through the straw?
