If we look at the weather over long periods of time, we can see some patterns. Let’s take a look at two weather variables, temperature and rain.
Temperature tells us if it is hot or cold. When the temperature is hot, people can cool off by drinking lots of water, going for a swim, and wearing shorts and sandals. When the temperature is cold, people need to wear coats to protect themselves.
Rain is a type of precipitation, like snow and hail. Clouds contain tiny water droplets and when the when droplets get big enough, they fall to the ground as rain. During some months, like April and May, Florida gets a lot of rain and in other months, we get less.
