During summer storms, high-altitude locations can get up to 30 lightning strikes per square km. Use the ZapMap on Lincoln High School’s WeatherSTEM Station Page, and locate the area of the country that is experiencing the most lightning strikes right now. Does that area have large mountains? How might lightning affect the area you are looking at in other ways than mountain erosion?
