Football in the Rain

Rain can change the entire speed of a football game. Players can lose their footing as the fields become slick and muddy.

Officials will switch out footballs to keep a ‘dry’ ball in play and players try to keep their hands dry between plays.
The rain can also impact a player’s vision and can increase the chances of leg and foot injuries.
