Relative Humidity

Perhaps the measurement you are most familiar with is relative humidity. This measurement is used in weather forecasts and reports as an indicator of the possibility of rain, dew, or fog. Instead of an absolute measurement, relative humidity is expressed as a percent, which represents the ratio of the current vapor pressure to the saturated vapor pressure at the current temperature. To put it another way, relative humidity is the amount of moisture in the air now, compared to the amount of moisture the air COULD HOLD at the current temperature. Use the slider to explore the concept of relative humidity. What happens as the temperature goes up?
