The median of a data set is the number in the middle of the set. If the set has an odd number of data points, the halfway point will be one value. If the set has an even number of data points, the halfway point will have a pair of middle values. Find the mean of the pair and that number is the median value.
Take the same low temperature values and calculate the mean. Are the values of median and mean the same or are they different? Why would it be important to have both values?
