Mode

The mode of a data set is the number that occurs the most. To find the mode of a data set, arrange the value in order from least to greatest and count the number of times each value appears. If only one value appears the most, this is the mode of the data set. If more than one value appears most often than the data set is called either bimodal (having two modes) or multimodal (having more than two modes).

Knowing the mode can be very helpful, especially with rainfall. By understanding if there have been more days without rain than days with rain can help meteorologist track drought.
