Until 2006, Pluto was considered to be the 9th planet in our solar system, but is now classified as a dwarf planet. A dwarf planet is typically smaller than Mercury and orbits in zones of similar objects that can cross their path around the sun. Pluto is found in the Kuiper Belt, which is filled with icy objects and other dwarf planets.
Fun Fact: Pluto is only half the width of the United States, and its moon, Charon, is about have the size of the dwarf planet.
