Wind Speed and Direction

Air flows into a low-pressure system and outward from high pressure. Temperature, pressure and the Coriolis force combine to create atmospheric motion:

• Vertical - ascending and descending currents
• Horizontal - wind

Currents and winds affect take off, landing and cruise flight.
