Anemometers

An Anemometer is a tool that measures wind speed.
How does it work? A cup anemometer is the most widely used type. It consists of several cups attached to an arm that is mounted on a vertical pole. Wind catches in the cups which cause the cups to move. This is connected to a device which measures the speed of the wind. Wind speed is measured in miles per hour, kilometer per hour, or knots.
