Combustion - controlled burning of oil and natural gas at the water surface
Offshore filtration - skimmer ships collected surface oil for later treatment
Floating Booms – placed near protected areas such as beaches, wetlands and estuaries in an attempt to block oil from entering
Corexit Dispersant - applied at the surface and deep at the site of the leaking well
