Extreme Heat and Climate Change

As warmer temperatures are observed, the potential for longer and more extreme heat wave increases. While it is impossible to blame a single event, such as a heat wave, on climate change, there have been numerous events within the last decade. Human populations need to prepare for more heat waves in the future. With the longer periods of more intense heat, populations (both susceptible and sheltered) have the increased potential to succumb to heat related illnesses.
