Winter Weather

Alabama is no stranger to winter weather. Southern portions of the state, namely from Montgomery to the coast, do not experience snow as frequently as the northern part of the state. Huntsville (Limestone and Madison counties) records roughly 2.5 inches of snow each year, while snow is a rare occurrence in Mobile (Mobile County).

Regardless of location, freezing temperatures are possible throughout the state during the winter months.
