Annual Precipitation

Maple trees need moderate amounts of rainfall and are not very drought or flood tolerant. The average annual precipitation in the maple growing region ranges from 40 to 60 inches. Maple trees also grow best in acidic to low alkaline soils that can drain well, such as sandy, silt, or loam-based soils.
