White Light

Let’s revisit our CD. What did you think caused the pretty colors?
Light travels in waves. White light, also called visible light is made up of a spectrum of different waves.
The back of the CD acts as a prism, an object that refracts light and breaks the light into different waves that show up as different colors to our eyes.
