Stratospheric Ozone - Good up High!
90% of all of the ozone in the atmosphere is found in the stratosphere. UV radiation reaches Earth’s surface in three different wavelengths:
- UV-A
- UV-B
- UC-C
The ozone layer absorbs all of UV-C radiation and most of UV-B radiation. Both of these are high energy radiation and would result in significant harm to life on Earth if allowed to pass to the surface.
