Boundary Currents
Boundary currents are those that follow a coastline. There are two categories of boundary currents:
- Eastern boundary currents tend to be slow and wide, flowing from higher latitudes toward the equator.
- Western boundary currents are narrow, deep, and warmer as they flow from the equator toward the poles. The Gulf Stream is an example of a Western Boundary Current.
