Changes in the Sun

The energy output of the sun can vary considerably, depending on the nuclear reactions that take place inside it. Remember that sunspots and coronal mass ejections (CMEs) can lead to changes in solar output. Revisit the “Exploring the Sun” lesson to review these concepts. Changes in the total output of energy from the sun can produce changes in the solar constant and lead to climatic variations.
