Citrus and Water

Citrus trees need lots of water, so in times when there is a lack of rainfall or drought, it’s necessary to use irrigation. When citrus trees are water stressed, it impacts the leaves and the fruit that’s being produced.

Water is also used to protect citrus trees when freezing temperatures are forecasted. By spraying the fruit and the trees with water, it can protect them. Water is continually applied, and as the water freezes it releases heat. The water freezing on the outside of the fruit and tree, keeps the fruit and water in the tree from freezing.
