The average annual rainfall for the state is 46.86", though the rainfall is varied across Kentucky. It ranges from less than 42 inches in portions of the Bluegrass region of the state, to a maximum of over 60 inches in isolated areas of the Eastern Coal Field near Pine and Cumberland Mountain.
