Thunderstorms

Thunderstorms are a common occurrence in Georgia, especially during the spring and summer months. The number of days with thunder ranges from over 70 per year in the far southwestern portion of the state, to about 40 days near the northeast counties that share a border with South Carolina. Thunderstorms can produce flash flooding, gusty winds, hail, lightning and even tornadoes.
