Georgia is no stranger to winter weather. While the southern and southeast portions of the state do not experience snow as frequently as the northern part of the state, locations in the region can still see below freezing temperatures during the winter months. One of the biggest hazards during winters in Georgia are freezing rain, or icing, events. This is when the rain comes in contact with an object with a temperature that is below freezing and ice forms.
