Natural Sources of CO2
The pie chart shows the major natural sources of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Most natural carbon dioxide comes from only three sources: the ocean, animals, and soil. A minor portion comes from volcanic activity. As you study the graph, think about Earth’s biogeochemical cycles. How might that affect the exchange of CO2 in Earth’s systems?
