UV Sensor

The meteorological community is not typically responsible for observing UV radiation. However, since it is an issue of public health and safety, meteorologists have joined many environmental agencies in monitoring the values. UV sensors measure the portion of the UV spectrum that causes sunburns by providing a response that matches the erythema action of human skin.

The UV sensors receive radiation from the whole sky and are able to measure the amounts of both UVA and UVB radiation.
