Extreme rainfall can cause flooding problems, depending on the amount of precipitation that falls in a set amount of time. The rainfall rate is a measure of the intensity of rainfall. This variable is measured by calculating the amount of rain that would fall over a given time interval if the rainfall intensity remained constant over that period of time.
Using data from selected WeatherSTEM stations, examine the rainfall and rain rate during Hurricane Ian. Which station had the greatest rain rate? How far was this station from the center of Hurricane Ian? What other conclusions did you come to after investigating the data?
