The official state record for the most rain in a 24-hour period is 23.28", on November 11-21, 1980 as a result of Hurricane Jeanne.

However, there is an unofficial record that is even higher than that amount. On September 5, 1950, Hurricane Easy dumped an estimated 38.70” on Yankeetown, FL in Levy County. The amount was based on a post storm survey and has been considered accurate, but an estimated value can not stand as an official record.
