Thunderstorms and Lightning

Florida reports more thunderstorms and has the highest density of lightning strikes than any other place in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. Central Florida’s number of summer thunderstorms equals that of the world’s maximum thunderstorm areas: Lake Victoria and the Amazon Basin.
