Hurricane Ida: Rainfall and Flooding

Ida produced widespread rainfall along its path, with significant totals reported in portions of the Gulf Coast and Mid-Atlantic and New England states.

Portions of southeastern Louisiana, southwestern Mississippi, and coastal Alabama reported rainfall totals over ten inches along the Gulf Coast.

When Ida transitioned to an extratropical storm, it produced local rainfall rates near or above 3 inches per hour across Maryland, southeastern Pennsylvania, northern New Jersey, and the New York Metropolitan area.
