Hurricane Michael: The Carolinas and Virginia

On October 12th, Tropical Storm Michael, which had weakened from a hurricane before moving across South Carolina, and impacted areas of the Carolinas and Virginia with the wind and heavy rains as it raced off to the northeast.

This portion of the lesson will examine the impacts caused by the tropical storm as it moved through the region that was still dealing with the devastation of a previous hurricane nearly one month earlier.
